Hearing Loss

The other name of hearing loss is known as hearing impairment. It is a partial or total inability to hear.Hearing loss may occur in one or both the ears.If the children get suffered from hearing impairment then they get difficuly in speaking and hearing.Hearing loss are of temporary or permanent baiss.

There are many factors which cause in Hearing Loss problem such as genetics, ageing, exposure to noise, some infections, birth complications. Age and noise are the two most common causes.
Hearing Loss is a natural consequence of getting older.Our hearing ability get dimished wiyh our age.

Another common reason of hearing loss is vulnerability to noise. It can also be a outcome of living in a noisy surrounding. Examples of sone noisy tools are- machinery,motors,loud sound at music concerts,clubs,earphone and MP3 players also.

Types of Hearing Loss.
1-Conductive hearing loss
2-Sensorineural hearing loss
3-Mixed hearing loss

About Conductive Hearing Loss
There are three parts of ear - the outer, the middle,the innear ear.when the sounds cannot get through the outer and middle ear then it cause Conductive Hearing.

Causes Of Conductive Hearing

1 Fluid in your middle ear from colds or allergies.
2 Ear infection
3 A hole in eardrum.
4 Benign tumors. These tumors are not cancer but can block the outer or middle ear.
5 Earwax , or cerumen, stuck in your ear canal.
6 Infection in the ear canal, called external otitis. You may hear this called swimmer’s ear.
7 An object stuck in your outer ear. An example might be if your child put a pebble in his ear when       playing outside.
8 A problem with how the outer or middle ear is formed. Some people are born without an outer ear. Some may have a deformed ear canal or have a problem with the bones   in their middle ear.


About Sensorineural Hearing Loss
When the middle layer of ear damage then it cause Sensorineural hearing lOss.Problems with the nerve pathways from your inner ear to your brain can also cause SNHL. Soft sounds may be hard to hear. Even louder sounds may be unclear.

Causes of Sensorineural Hearing

1 Illnesses.
2 Drugs that are toxic to hearing.
3 Hearing loss that runs in the family.
4 Aging.
5 A blow to the head.
6 A problem in the way the inner ear is formed.
7 Listening to loud noises or explosions.

About Mixed Hearing Loss
When both the problems occur on the same time then it is known as mixed hearining loss This means that there may be damage in the outer or middle ear and in the inner ear or nerve pathway to the brain. This is a mixed hearing loss.

Causes of Mixed Hearing Loss
Anything that cause a conductive hearing loss or sensorineural hearing loss can lead to a mixed Hearing Loss.An example would be if you have a hearing loss because you work around loud noises and you have fluid in your middle ear. The two together might make your hearing worse than it would be with only one problem.

Prevantion of Hearing Loss 
1 Beware from hazardous noises like firecracker,
   rock concerts, dancle clubs, motorboats etc.
2 The risk for hearing loss due to high noise is   especially high among factory and heavy industry         workers, transportation workers, military     personnel, construction workers, miners, farmers,             firefighters, police officers, musicians, and       entertainment industry
3 Wear hearing protections if you are going around   the loud sound
4 Smoking can make you more likely to lose your   hearing
5 Remove ear waxproperly
